About

The Lethbridge Regional Waste Management Services Commission (LRWMSC) is a partnership between Lethbridge County, the Town of Picture Butte and the Town of Nobleford. The Commission plans and runs waste and recycling services for the region, including transfer stations and recycling trailers.

The Commission is its own organization, separate from its member municipalities. Each member appoints representatives to the board. DBS Environmental operates the transfer stations and recycling trailers under contract.

Our mission

The Lethbridge Regional Waste Management Services Commission exists to deliver cost-effective, convenient, and collaborative waste management services that protect the environment and improve quality of life across member communities.

Our values

We work alongside our member municipalities, stakeholders, and communities as equals, sharing responsibility and aligning effort to deliver outcomes none of us could achieve alone.

We measure what matters, set clear targets, and hold ourselves accountable for delivering efficient, cost-effective waste management outcomes — not just activity.

Every policy, program, and investment starts with the people we serve — designing services that are accessible, responsive, and built around the real needs of our communities.

We make decisions today that protect tomorrow — prioritizing waste diversion, environmental stewardship, and long-term system viability over short-term convenience.
